Abstract

Hypertension during pregnancy remains one of the leading causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. The condition frequently occurs during the third trimester when maternal physiological demands increase significantly. This study aimed to describe midwifery care management for third-trimester pregnant women with hypertension through a case study of Mrs. S. The study employed a descriptive case study approach using the Helen Varney Midwifery Management Process. Data were collected through history taking, physical examination, observation, and documentation. The findings revealed that the client experienced elevated blood pressure during the third trimester and required comprehensive monitoring to prevent complications. Midwifery management included assessment, diagnosis, identification of potential problems, immediate actions, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Continuous antenatal care, blood pressure monitoring, nutritional counseling, health education, and fetal well-being assessment were provided. The evaluation showed that maternal and fetal conditions remained stable and no severe complications occurred. Comprehensive and continuous midwifery care plays an important role in preventing complications associated with hypertensive disorders during pregnancy.
