Abstract

ABSTRACT

Malnutrition is a condition in which the body does not receive sufficient intake of essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, calories, and minerals. This condition can lead to severe health issues, including wasting and stunting in children, making malnutrition a critical concern. The main cause of malnutrition is a lack of public knowledge and understanding of balanced nutrition. Other contributing factors include education level, economic status, family support, and limited communication with healthcare providers. This study focuses on handling a case of malnutrition in a 30-month-old toddler with underdeveloped growth. Interventions included the provision of supplementary food (PMT), including biscuits, milk, and Taburia supplements, along with nutritional education for parents. The objective was to enhance community awareness of malnutrition prevention in the Rantang Health Center's service area. The results showed improved parental knowledge and attitudes towards child nutrition, indicating that education and nutrition interventions are effective in addressing malnutrition.
